[Strange Visuals Project] Bánh Tráng CDs

Bánh Tráng CDs are a reinterpretation of two familiar objects: Vietnamese rice paper and the compact disc. Inspired by the round form of bánh tráng and the nostalgia of early-2000s CDs, each piece transforms a humble everyday material into a collectible object that can be seen, held, and heard.

Printed on 100% Vietnamese rice paper, each CD is made from six layers laminated together and secured with metal rivets and screws. Due to the handmade nature of the material, no two pieces are exactly alike. Variations in texture, colour, transparency, and surface marks are a natural part of the work and make each CD unique.
